It's bang, bang, super fantastic, as Madine shines in the Knightsbrook Sun.
Saturday the 20th April, seen the Society have their 2nd Outing of the season at the sun drenched Knightsbrook Hotel and Golf Club.
With wall to wall sunshine, high scores were expected and no-one obliged more than Kieran Madine, coming out top of the pile returning a super 40 points, a slow enough front 9 with 17 points, Kieran turned it on around the back with 23 points to take top spot from his good mate Gavin Quinn, who was pipped into 2nd place with 39 points, 20 points on the front 9 was followed by an equally impressive 19 on the back 9 to take the runner-up spot.
Winner of the Low section and only missing out on runner-up spot on the count back was last time out winner, Garry Sands, handicap will need to be looked at before the next outing.
Winner of the high section with 38 points was Patrick "Rusty" McCarthy, a superb 23 points on the front 9, was followed up with a modest 15 points on the back, the sun having an effect on his back 9 performance.
Winner of the front 9 with 22 points was "Fresh Air" Paul Fearon, slowing down round the back 9, so his handicap isn't affected for the golf in Turkey.
Winner of the back 9 also with 22 points was Shane "Sunny" Burns, the target practice at the housing development in Colin Glenn Driving Range taking some effect.
Nearest the pins were won by Raymond Fegan (again) and Fergal McConville, neither of them made a "two" from their great shots.
Two's on the day were won by Paul Fearon, Barrie McCoy and Conor McConville sharing the £50 kitty.
Next outing is Saturday 25th May in Concrawood.
