Saval 1-6 Mayobridge 6-7
Saval U16 girls continued their league campaign with a home encounter against Mayobridge. Both teams had made a strong start to their league campaigns and a competitive fixture was expected. In the end a determined and hardworking Mayobridge side claimed the victory by a comfortable margin
Two early scores got Saval girls of to a great start – however Mayobridge responded strongly. Despite Saval scores from Connie McGrath, Katie O’Hare and Niamh McGinley, Mayobridge took a deserved four point lead into the half time interval. The strong momentum from Mayobridge continued at the start of the second half and a flurry of goals saw them take a commanding lead. Both teams battled to the end but the better team won on the day and Mayobridge fully deserved their win and the two league points.
Well done to both teams for a competitive game of football. Saval would like to wish Mayobridge all the best for the remainder of their season.
