Saval Ladies had a busy week this week with a draw at home and a loss on the road in Division 2.

With our young team in the middle of exam season, there has a been a number of players unavailable but the game time will only help to build experience for this side.

At home to Loughinisland on Tuesday night, the two teams played out an entertaining game with scores free flowing.

Saval were on top in the second half and seemed to have the win in the bag but for a penalty with the last kick of the game to level the scores.

Saval 2-13 Loughinisland 4-7

(R Ryan 2-3, A McParland 0-5, O McNally 0-2, E Mullan, C McCarthy and E Anderson 0-1 each)

Saturday night the team travelled to Bredagh. With Marie Claire away on County duty, she was missed in nets as Bredagh bagged 4 first half goals. Despite this, Saval played some great football - the Hall girls linking up for Stephanie’s goal and Katie and Eve with some excellent points.

In the second half, Saval’s defence worked tirelessly - with every girl getting in blocks and tackles but unfortunately couldn’t overturn the first half goals.

Final score Bredagh 4-7 Saval 2-7

(S Hall 2-1, E Mullan 0-3, K Havern 0-2, F Hall 0-1)

No game next week with Down Ladies in the Ulster Final, best of luck to Ciara Byrne - we will all be cheering Ciara on and looking forward to seeing her back in club action soon.

Also sending good wishes to Maeve McCartan who is competing in the finals of Miss NI competition next week, swapping her boots for heels!

Next up for the Saval ladies is Rostrevor at home on 10th June.
